so, i spent the entire day saturday watching the food network … and yes, it was one of those days. but i’m so glad i did because i learned how to make the very, very, very best french toast both camden and i have ever eaten. i mean the very very best. it is a recipe courtesy of bobby flay … i’ve never made one of his recipes but after trying this i’m absolutely sold. i did have to make a few changes i’m not sure bobby would have approved of if he knew, but ultimately, in the end, i would make it exactly the same again … and will … probably tomorrow …

you can see the recipe here … pretty much all you need to know is that if you can’t find fresh peaches this time of year, frozen peaches work just marvelously and if, like me, you can’t find brioche at your local super market, regular french bread sliced thin then dipped into the batter (not soaked) is a delicious substitute. sorry bobby, but we can’t all have the very best ingredients always at our fingertips …

I saw this picture and immediately thought of his "pain purdue" recipe that was on his new show. I thought the baguette with poached egg and tomatoes looked delicious as well. I was actually wondering whole watching that show of anyone actually makes those recipes – I guess so! Lovely pictures.
