so . . . trader joe’s was a huge success and we made our weekend brunch out of some of the things we bought. we also got the most gorgeous flowers while we were there. i’m a sucker for pretty flowers and for under five bucks they were a steal. camden made his world famous french toast. what makes it famous you ask? “it’s a secret” he says, although he is always teasing me with special ingredients that make it so good. “you just need to add a bit of love” he’ll say, or “after i flip them, i just give’m a good o’l smack”.  i’m not really sure what he does, but whatever it is. . . it’s working. during our brunch we watched a few episodes of i love lucy, which i’m convinced is the best weekend brunch show combo. seriously the best! trader joe’s stole our heart and provided us with one of the best brunches we’ve had in weeks. yeah . . . we’ll be back.

I miss Trader Joe's so much. We used to have them all around us. And then we moved and now the closest one is three hours away. We still go, but not often anymore.

isn't it the best when your guy makes breakfast? my husband made pancakes last night for "brenner." whole wheat with olive oil and strawberries on top. i don't know what he does, either, to make them so good!

Do you ever call it TJ's? I just moved to California (from Chicago) and everyone here refers to Trader Joe's as TJ's. I had never heard that before and for months I thought that TJ's was a different store altogether 🙂

It's like the photos of a brunch in a Martha Stewart magazine.
I've never been to a Trader Joes store but the flowers they carry are lovely 🙂

Hooray for Trader Joe's! My husband and I love their soy chorizo (great to jazz up veggie chili), plus their roasted veg no-cheese pizza is amazing. (It usually ends up being our fallback dinner…just throw some of the chorizo on there, with avocado and bbq sauce. Yum!)

Here in England brunch isn't quite as popular, but we do go in for a nice big Full English Breakfast now and then – you can't beat scrambled egg, fried tomato, sausages, bacon, mushrooms and fried toast for a treat. Though I do love a good stack of pancakes here and there!

    Your brunch looks totally delicious!

Yum! We don't have a Trader Joes here (yet! one is being built a few blocks from my work!) but I am totally in love with brunches like this! They set the tone for a great week to come.
