for our weekend brunch we devoured what we call german pancakes. we dusted them with powdered sugar and topped them with fresh red berries, drizzled with “real” maple syrup. if i’m honest, i’m sort of a snob when it comes to maple syrup. i will only eat the “real” good stuff.
instead of i love lucy this week, i finally got camden to watch the sound of music with me. this, oddly enough, has become a goal of mine, starting around when we first got married. until yesterday he had always refused. it had almost become sort of a joke between us, the movie that was always suggested to be watched and always never watched… this weekend he finally gave in.
Looks delicious! I've never made German pancakes before, but my husband is all about the Dutch Baby over at The Original Pancake House – will have to give it a shot sometime soon!
Pancakes with powdered sugar are my favorite!! ..but I always forget the powdered sugar! Looks great 🙂

He liked it alright. He didn't love it like I do, although I would place it in my top five favorite movies of all time:)

Yummi – this looks sooo delicious! Even if I don't get why these are called German pancakes? I come from Germany and have never eaten one before – of course this will change soon : )
Haha I'm not sure why we call them German pancakes, for some reason it's just what we called them growing up. I have also heard them called Dutch babies but have no idea what the technical name is 🙂 xo-Sara
Yum! I love German pancakes! Sound like an awesome brunch. Especially since your man caved on The Sound of Music! Good movie.

I love German pancakes! They're a family tradition in our house. I love mine with lemon juice and powdered sugar. We also put dollops of cream cheese in the batter…so tasty!
I love your photo/quote series too! I might give that a go, it's a lovely idea.
