sometimes i wonder how the clouds know to come out at four o’clock on the dot. for the last few weeks or so that is what has happened. every day at just about four o’clock the clouds drift over the blue sky and it starts to look like a big old thunder storm is rolling in. it gets my hopes up you know, thinking the biggest, baddest thunder storm could be happening at any moment. however there isn’t even the slightest rumble of clashing clouds or flashing lightening, i guess after last year nothing can compare to that crazy, all-time, best, slightly scary, thunder storm that took place.
it was a day just like any other. we had only lived in this apartment for a few months and it had been rainy a lot of the spring and summer. camden had gotten home from work and decided he would get kramer out of the house and go pick up some dinner while i finished up a project at home.
let me just pause for a minute to tell you this one thing i love about camden. no matter how long of a day he has had or how grumpy he may or (according to him) may not be, he will always come home and offer to pick up dinner, be willing to get kramer out of the house, and even eat where i want instead of where he would prefer. sometimes i forget how awesome he is, truly awesome.
while camden was getting ready to leave we could hear the scattered thunder bursts, one close then one far, and the random shock of lightening lighting up the dimly lit house. as they were leaving, i turned off the t.v. and opened a window a crack to better hear the thunder. i wanted to be excited, to pretend the the storm was worse than it was. suddenly the flashes of lightening started to get more frequent, and the thunder really loud. as i went to close the window (i had enough excitement for one thunder storm at that point), i heard the soft whine of sirens in the distance. i wondered if somebody’s house had been struck as you could hear the crackle of the lightening in the sky. i walked back over to the couch and turned the t.v. back on to see if there were any weather warnings, the weather isn’t officially scary until you get a weather warning after all. about five seconds after i turned that t.v. on, the biggest thunder i ever heard shook the house and all of the sudden, all the lights flickered, the t.v. flashed off and on, a big flash of light appeared in the fireplace, and sparks came out of an electrical socket. i was shocked, i wasn’t sure exactly what to do. i immediately called camden and when he answered all i could say was “you missed it! . . .  i think our house just got struck by lightening!”
you could see how my expectations for an exciting thunder storm could be pretty high. i’m not sure anything will ever be able to top that one, not that i would want it to (knock on wood).

I just thrifted a similar shirt last week, but I'm waiting to wear it until the weather is cooler so I can wear long sleeves and not melt.

I really enjoy storms. We've been having a lot lately, but they come and go quickly.
