the secret life of my lashes

Miscellaneous

i have been receiving a lot of emails and questions lately about my eyelash secret, who knew lashes could keep secrets? well what my lashes haven’t been telling you is that they aren’t all real, they are a bunch of fakes. i actually have eyelash extensions. it sort of all happened on a fluke really, when about seven or eight months ago i was offered to try them for half off. i was kind of scared that they would turn out really freaky looking or obviously fake, however i was pleasantly surprised with the outcome and my lashes were pleased as well. so pleased in fact, i have kept them up ever since and because we are being completely honest here (my lashes and i), they have to admit they’re sort of addicted to them. it’s hard to imagine them without the extra length. i have been fortunate enough to find a place that fills them relatively cheap and does a great job at it too. it’s also really nice to not have to worry about mascara or eyeliner. i would say the only downside is you do have to take really good care of them to keep them looking good which means mascara and eyeliner are a no no along with oily face washes or eye creams. i have thought about trying other solutions such as lilash or just the good old glue-ons but i’m sort of impatient, which camden just looooves about me, and i got a bit tired of the false stick-on lashes after so many ballet performances of having to wear them. this is just what i have found that works for me. what works for you?

They're beautiful! I bought a Groupon deal for lash extensions a few weeks ago. I kept thinking to myself that this was highly out of character. The woman in the picture looked really fake and just not 'me'. However, looking at your lashes I feel a lot better about it. Long lashes are just lovely on anyone, and you have such a natural, classic look I would never think you had false ones! I love that your lashes are beautiful without looking clumpy or spidery as a result of piling on the mascara.

I think they look really natural. I love them. I saw a groupon a while back, too, but chose not to buy it because I also didn't think it was very "me." Now I'm wishing I would have! Definitely planning to snatch one up, if the chance comes around. 🙂

I honesty thought you use lilash, because I have used it in the past and my lashes kinda look like this, extremely long (kind of uncomfortable for someone who is not use to that lenght)but I missed them, the down part is that I have to keep using it or else they come out and re-grow to their natural lenght which in my case is nothing 🙁

I want to try extensions and I live in SLC too. Can I ask where you get them filled? The main drawback for me is how expensive it is to get them filled but it sounds like you've found a cheap place!

I get them done at cherry lash lounge. They are still a bit pricey when you first get them on but not bad to get them filled. I get the filled about one a month which ends up costing me about 50$ but depending on what you want you could get it done for less.

I did eyelash extensions for my wedding! They were pretty awesome! Everyone was like, "oh my gosh, they are so long & beautiful." I was so tempted to just take the compliments & dash but I had to tell them that they were extensions! I'd do it again because I don't have to wear mascara- which I love!

I've wanted to try these for *so* long {former cheerleader and thus former falsies addict!} and I've just been so so so nervous about the process! I just imagine someone coming at my eyeballs with this huge machine claw {it makes no sense now that I type it!} and it's totally freaked me out! I still don't know if I'm up for it, but I'll definitely look into it now! Yours look amazing!
