yesterday i was having a rough pregnant day. i managed to keep it together until camden came home from work and i suddenly decided i needed to bawl my eyes out. i’ve learned quite quickly, while being pregnant, the whole waterworks thing seems to come a lot easier … but, then again, so do the giggles. after i calmed down and the clouds started to clear, we went about our evening as planned which included the next movie on our list of oscar nominees. we usually try and get to all the nominated films before the oscars but this year we seriously failed. we had already watched dallas buyer’s club and next was captain phillips. camden and kramer made the trip up to the closest redbox and when they came home they surprised me with these beautiful flowers above to brighten my day. it seriously did just that. i’m so thankful for such a supportive and loving husband. i just wanted to take a cheese-ball second and say how much i love him. the end.

p.s. thank you so much for all your supportive and useful comments on the noisy neighbor post. all your suggestions were really helpful and camden and i are looking into getting some type of sound machine.

we have these neighbors above us who haven’t figured out how to live quietly especially late into the night. we’ve talked to them twice, knocked on the ceiling quite a few times, complained to our landlord once, and still have had a few sleepless nights. last night at two-thirty in the morning they woke us up with their shenanigans yet again. it doesn’t help either that their bedroom is right above ours. after hoping they would finally be quiet for about two hours, camden had the brilliant idea of blowing up our air mattress in the living room in hope that the noise would at least not be directly above us and would hopefully be quiet enough to get some sleep. not wanting to awaken our senses too much, we quickly made a bed on the floor using only a flashlight to see. thankfully … it worked. we were able to sleep the rest of the night until the sun came up and shined through the windows this morning. honestly, we both really hope they move soon. however, just in case, we’re planing on getting some ear plugs on our grocery trip this afternoon.

baby room

every time i start designing our baby room in my head, i always have to stop and remind myself just how small the space actually is. after rethinking it a few times i have decided that the best way to keep this room from looking too cluttered is to keep with a mostly neutral pallet then bring in a few accessories to add little pops of color. i also like the idea of playing with textures using blankets and pillows to add interest into the petite room. the photos above have been giving me a some inspiration lately …

below is kind of where my head is at now. not everything below will be coming in, more just ideas of where i’d like to be headed. i’m also daydreaming about gold triangles on the ceiling … i guess we’ll just see how it all turns out soon!

weekend brunch

brunch

saturday i made this lemon zucchini bread that seriously made the whole house smell extra wonderful for the rest of the day. i again found this recipe on pinterest a few days prior … because all recipes ever worth finding seem to be found on pinterest of course. we ate it for brunch mid-sunday morning and we were both pleasantly surprised by how good it was. it definitely does not have your typical zucchini bread flavor but instead resides somewhere closer to a lemon loaf with just a hint of zucchini. my favorite thing about it was how moist this bread was. we will be sticking this treat into the “absolutely making this again” recipe file.

i’ve been living in this dress at least two of the seven days every week, sometimes more. it’s just so comfortable and goes with almost everything. these are my first pair of maternity pants … they are still a little bit big and i do find myself having to readjust them from time to time throughout the day but at this point, they are still much more comfortable than most of my regular pants.

really the only complaint i have at this point of my pregnancy in the constant back pain i get in my left ribs whenever i sit or drive. camden has been really sweet about it though and offers up back rubs almost every evening. other than that, my pregnancy has been pretty tolerable and i feel really lucky to be able to say so. also, we’ve decided that baby jude has gotten camden’s energy levels as he seems to be kicking, twirling, and moving constantly, especially when we lay down to sleep at night. a few times he has kicked me so hard it’s made me jump out of sheer surprise.
