we have learned that jude …
loves looking at twinkle lights and the lace curtains behind the couch
has dad’s nose, eyes, and big toe and mom’s mouth, hairline, and fingers
likes to snuggle with mom every night before bed and prefers to be burped by dad
still hates being naked and/or bathed
falls asleep on walks and car rides
is very ticklish, especially on his tummy
loves to pee and poop with his diaper off
rarely spits up but when he does it’s monstrous
prefers long sleeves and leggings even in the heat
sucks his fist instead of his thumb
could stare up at the trees for what feels like forever

i wore: skirt, madewell // shirt, nordstrom (mens) // shoes, target // hat, urban outfitters – jude wore: top, gerber onesie // socks, baby gap

we celebrated the fourth with my sisters, mom, and grandma this year … it consisted of five guys burgers and fries, cherry-chocolate malts, snuggles with a sweet smelling babe, a few board games, and of course we finished off the night with sparklers. oh how i love photographing sparklers. they’ve appeared on this blog a few times before and i can’t promise you won’t see them again … apologies in advanced 😉

how did you celebrate the holiday??

the four of us have come to find that when life introduces a baby, everyday events and simple tasks seem to take way longer than they ever did before. i had originally planned this brunch for sunday morning which quickly turned into wednesday morning which then soon became wednesday evening. so truthfully, camden and i ended up eating our sunday morning brunch for wednesday dessert instead. it was delicious all the same. i made four gooey, caramelized, buttery baked peaches courtesy of pinterest … camden ate three of them because they were that good. and yes, we did eat them off paper plates with plastic spoons … operation no more dishes 😉

brown sugar baked peaches

you will need (per peach):
a peach
one – two teaspoons of brown sugar
one half tablespoon of butter
a sprinkle of cinnamon

cut peaches in half, remove pit, and lay skin side down on a baking sheet. in the center of each peach, place the butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. bake for 30 mins or until peaches are golden and tender (the time may be shorter if your peaches are really ripe). enjoy!

at his two and a half week checkup, little jude weighed 6 pounds 14 ounces (which was quite the jump from his last checkup weighing in at 6 pounds exactly), was 20.75 inches long, and made it into the 6th percentile for his weight and 23rd percentile for his height. you go baby jude … way to grow!
