the apollo club in harlem
oh the hop on, hop off busses . . . they were a sort of major entertainment for us. one of the tour guides on one of the busses we took, kept yelling at her bus driver down below, who’s name couldn’t have been more perfect, eugene. “eugene, eugene, can you hear me??” “eugene, eugene, you better let this bus go around us now!!” – and who could forget about zu (one of the other tour guide’s bus driver). “zu, zu, stop zu! right here zu, stop!” without a doubt the best show of the trip.
a little ancient graveyard by ground zero
soho turned out to be one of my favorite areas in new york, although i really loved them all.
rockefeller plaza is where we spent a lot of time on our first day in new york. also where we spent a lot of time shopping in new york . .
oh serendipity, your frozen hot chocolate really is superb and your menus oversized. (camden really wanted to order the golden opulence sundae, made with real gold costing over 1000$, just to see what they’d say.)
strangely this hot dog was one of my favorite meals on this trip, and i don’t even typically like hot dogs. it was that good.
because i already have the little new york block set from muji, i went with the london block set. maybe we’ll go there next?
i was obsessed with kate’s rings. i took like 15 pictures of them. they deserved a bit of spotlight.
my mom, sister, and camden went to the today show in rockefeller plaza monday morning, where girls were screaming and crying over those jonas brothers. mom, kate, and tessa (and camden) this photo is for you π
strawberry fields in central park.
the crowds and traffic were electrifying, especially near times square.
Where did you get that red dress in those first few photos.
Anthropologie & on sale too!
Your pictures are amazing, my oldest daughter always had a dream to live in New York, she was able to visit one day and she loved the energy:)
These pictures are too great! Making me desperately want to visit NYC for the first time. I'll have to make all of the Beatles stops (including The Dakota!) and definitely the shopping too! π Love your blog and style! xo
I'm an Aussie, and boy-oh-boy is New York high on my list of places to visit! Thankyou for cementing that even more.
Glad to see you had fun here! Please tell your sister that I ran into Ed Westwick (you know, Chuck Bass) on Thursday at one of my auditions and that he is looking just ever so delightful π [plus: it means he was in NYC at the same time as you which means there is a very good chance you all crossed paths and she got some Ed Westwick vibes as a souvenir π Next time you visit, go out to Long Island City in Queens to see where they film.]
Have you had the Frozen Hot Chocolate at Hatch Family Chocolates here in Salt Lake? If you're a FroHoCho fan, you must try theirs! They only serve it during the summer months and it's so so so delicious, I actually liked it A LOT more than Serendipity 3's. Plus it's local and comes with their also impossibly delicious house made whipped cream.
i love this post – i'm from jersey so i go to NYC quite often (I was there yesterday!) but its always magical to watch someone visit it for the first time (or 2nd, 3rd…). Places I would normally walk by (or avoid) seem so different through the eyes of someone who doesn't see it all the time!
Glad you had a great time and thanks for sharing!
this is an amazing photo journey! excellent!
Well my weekend was no where near as good as yours… these photos make me miss NYC! I've only been twice & it's not enough. PS I love your outfits!
i love your photos. what lens do you use? actions? they are so simply wonderful.
this city is magical! absolutely adore your style and your blog! can't wait to read more!
xo TJ
