morning drinks – avocado & banana`

this smoothie is currently one of my favorites. it’s by martha stewart and actually, in the beginning, i was a bit hesitant to try it. i like my drinks sweet and fresh and the idea of avocado in a smoothie was a bit intimidating but also kind of intriguing. honestly, it doesn’t taste anything like i thought it would. it is seriously amazing and the orange juice just goes perfectly with the other flavors. try it … you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

avocado and banana smoothies by martha stewart 


(serves about three – four):
1 avocado
1 banana
1 1/2 cups of orange juice
1/2 cup of greek yogurt, non-fat
1/4 cup of honey
2 1/2 cups of ice

combine all ingredients together, blend until smooth, and enjoy!

    I had an avocado milkshake/shake kind of thing once and found it gross! BUT(!) I think pairing the concoction with more sweet fruit could have done it a lot of justice! I am definitely curious and will have to try this creative smoothie! Thanks for sharing

    Ooooo I could rock some avocado in the morning!! I would imagine 1/4 cup of honey would make this really sweet…is it? Or does the other ingredients blend it out so it's not a crazy honey taste?

      I thought it might be too sweet as well or have to much of a honey taste but you actually hardly notice it. I think the other flavors probably just balance it out:)

    I love having an avocado in my smoothie! Avocado smoothies are the best. 🙂 I had one back in 2008 when my aunt made me one and I loved them ever since. ^_^
