– in my next life i hope to be a storm chaser or a weather women. i find myself utterly and completely fascinated yet terrified by weather. sometimes i turn on the weather channel and pretend i’m wherever the current big storm is. if not that, then i hope to be a ghost investigator for pretty much all the same reasons.
– my ideal day consists of: black and white movies, a bed, pajamas, and lots of delicious food.
– i love most fruits and vegetables but i absolutely hate beets, zucchini, and eggplant.
– my least favorite season is summer and my very favorite season is autumn. mostly, i just hate the heat.
– i heard somewhere once that water left on a bedside table collects negative energy during the night … now every morning i flush it down the toilet.
– my first favorite word is home. after a day at work or running errands, there is nothing i would rather do than go home. i feel the most peace and like myself there. i love spending time decorating it. i love the beings it holds within it. if you were to ask me pretty much any day of the week what i wanted to do tonight, the answer would most likely be … “go home”.
– my favorite poems are by shel silverstein and the name of this blog came about from the poem “where the sidewalk ends” by him himself, shel silverstein.
– i am eternally optimistic, almost to a fault. i am also extremely lazy, most definitely to a fault.
– my very favorite type of weather are thunderstorms. i would pick a loud, dark, over the top thunderstorm any day over the hot sun.
– i find myself crying during lots of movies and t.v. shows. i’m banned from certain shows on the animal planet because of the tears that inevitably follow and i won’t even watch certain shows unless i’m completly alone. grey’s anatomy and the disney classic peter pan, just to name a few.
– my second favorite word is simple. i think almost everything is better that way.
I love Shel Siverstein!

Aw, loved reading this. I am also a huge Shel Silverstein fan. I've collected nearly all of his books. I always wondered if that's where the name of your blog came from. I totally hate the heat too. I'm pretty much all sorts of miserable during the summer unless I'm in air conditioning or in/near the water. I have a soft spot in my heart for animals too but your admission made me think about my friend Eva who can barely speak about animals without getting teary, haha! I love her all the more for it though.
Love LOVE this post. Perfectly describes you 🙂
#9 is SO me as well! Thunderstorms (or just rainy days in general) are my absolute favorite.
The animal planet can have some very sad docos and I will cry too!

i won't even touch animal planet. i can't handle it one bit. and simple is the most perfect word, and you are so right. everything is better that way.
we have the same favorite word 🙂 most people think I am unbelievably boring hahahah.
I really enjoyed this post! Thunderstorms are my jam, and I was obsessed with the movie twister growing up, so storm-chasing is pretty up there too 🙂

I had never thought about it, but I feel just the same way about "going home". It's so funny to read about someone else's life and realize something about yourself:) Love your blog!
I have never heard that about the water but I always have some next to me yikes.
storm chaser…i'd like that too.
It's a beautiful post. Loved it!!
Adore this post- finding out random facts about people is one of my loves.
Your favourite way to spend a day sounds like my ideal, black and white movies just make me feel comfortable.

I totally get you with the hatred of the heat — I would rather wear a sweater than a swimsuit any day of the week! Bring on the clouds!
I can't believe Silverstein IS translated to hungarian, and it is translated by one of my favorite hungarian contemporan poets, Varró Dániel! I will purchase this as soon as possible!
I'd be lying if I said I never watch Storm Chasers on the Weather channel! I will SO be a storm chaser with you.
I love Shel Silverstein's poems and the illustrations make them even more amazing. 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
You and I have so much in common it's incredible lol.

The comment about the water is really interesting! Also Grey's Anatomy is one of the only programmes that can reduce me to tears in about 0.5 seconds.
this is so lovely
I love this. So simple and straightforward. And the corresponding pictures are beautiful.
we were made to be bosom buddies, i swear it.
I absolutely adore this post! However I am horrified of thunderstorms, I'm like a child and I cry everytime!

I feel the same way about Grey's Anatomy. I cannot even deal with that show most of the time and I insist on watching it alone. I am not a pretty cryer. That show produces the world's ugliest tears from me.
And home. Home is my favorite place to be as well. I always crave my bed and my house. It's where my dogs are, it's my safe space. It's the best place to be.
Love this!

Oh, I really love these types of posts. Thanks for sharing.
I like this post a lot because I think it's a really good, insightful, idea. I like the idea of reading (or sleeping) during thunderstorms so I agree with you!
