Miscellaneous

i know i have been m.i.a. for the past few days, but this bedroom took a lot more energy and time than i had expected. my days and nights were spent in this little room and i definitely couldn’t have pulled it off without the help of my family. i’m extremely happy to say the makeover is finally complete. the room has made a full turn around from where it began, can you believe it use to look like this? although i’m overjoyed with how it turned out, i can’t say there weren’t a few little bumps and jolts along the way. the rug i had initially planned for the room was unexpectedly backordered and it took some creative thinking on how to find one similar in time for the big reveal. also, the original color of the dresser was planned to be different and i had found out only few days before it had been discontinued. however, i ended up liking the new color of the dresser in the room even better than the first. the original layout i had in mind looked better, there, in my head, and needed some rearranging on the floor. also, i think when you buy paint, there should be a guide that lets you know just how much wall space it will cover. the home depot definitely saw a lot of me in the past week and i always feel a little out of place there, sort of a let’s play the one who doesn’t belong. anyway, in the end everything worked out better than expected and i’m in love with this funky rooms unique vibe. later this week, i will include a little post on where i got some of my absolute favorite little treasures, which just to name a few include: the oversized dream catcher above the bed, the little elephant and bird dangly hangings, and the stuffed owl perched comfortably on that oh-so-cozy bed. all these little details are always my favorite part of redoing a room. as a side note, it wasn’t until the space was completed that i realized just how many different animals i had included somewhere throughout: birds, foxes, elephants, deer, lions, butterflies, the whole lot. below are just a few pictures of the newly revamped bedroom, enjoy!

Can you just fix my whole house? It's so beautiful and simple. I really really love it. I love the Modernica rocking chair. Love Kramer's Ikea "Mother". Wasn't wild about the stripes at first, but seeing how you played with the lovely subtle tones made it so lovely and light. It looks gorgeous with the little collection of things you pinned over it. Lastly, I adore all the little animals you placed throughout. Perfection!

Ahh where is that desk from?!? I'm about to move into my own apartment and that desk it absolutely perfect. You would be saving me from a weeks more of searching and I'd be forever grateful. The room as a whole is absolute perfection!

beautiful, beats many of the home shows on tv. the room reminds me of some of my cherished items, all of which are packed away in a different country at the moment. can't wait now to be reunited with them in a weeks time, particularly my little owl, and letter 'a', both incredibly similar to the ones you used! also, love that rocking chair with the sheepskin on it, will now be looking for something similar!

Wow, Sara. You are good. Real good. I love the paint color. I have been looking for something close to that to do in Gabby's room. What color is that?

I know this is a post from several months ago but… Could you tell me where you found that bed? Is it a trundle? I have been searching forever for one as cute and simple as that. Love the room. Love your blog!
