as you can probably see, kramer has had his tri-anual doggy haircut. every four months or so, it seems to be impossible for us to let him go on as that fat, furry krames we all know and love. his hair becomes matted and dirty and quickly becomes apparent he can hardly see where he is going. as soon as he starts running into things while trying to greet us at the door, we know it’s time for the oh-so-dreaded appointment with those hair scissors. this does give him, and well us, one problem especially in the fall and winter months when the air begins to turn crisp and cold. kramer, once with a thick white eskimo coat, has turned a pinker shade of white and has only a thin jacket on instead of his usual puffy parka. this year, especially due to the new home that relies on old radiators to warm it’s 1920’s walls, my maternal instincts have checked in and begun to worry about that little guy getting cold. i notice him this time around curling up into tighter than normal balls and being extra cuddly with mom and pops to try and get him warm. camden and i are both rather against the whole dressing your doggy up thing, but i think i would be willing to shed a sweater if it’s to keep him warm. camden thinks he can tough it out, but i’m starting to reconsider. maybe kramer needs a sweater. what do you guys think? is it cruel to dress your pups up in the occasional sweater or are they excepted for little pastel pink guys on those extra nippy days? kramer thanks you for your advice!
i wore: jacket, old navy // dress, deja vu c/o // tights, thrifted // shoes, vince camuto // bracelet, was a gift
Get the sweater! I agree that many people take dressing their dogs wayyy too far but it's actually an important issue in the winter. My pup, Henry, is about Kramer's size and he gets so cold in the winter, even with a decent amount of fur. My best advice is to stay away from wool sweaters, as many dogs are allergic (we found this out the hard way, post wool sweater purchase), and can be itchy. Hen loves his sweatshirt and jacket so much that he dances on his hind legs when we take them out, plus the added cute factor is amazing 🙂
Love this gif! So cute!
First of all, this gif is perfection! You look gorgeous! Love the outfit! And little Kramer is adorable!!
Second, someone told me- if you're cold, so is your pet. If you're hot, so is your pet. So the sweater might be a good idea.
LOVE that dress! I feel the same way when my labradoodle has to get shaved down, he looks so bare and pitiful! I think a nice respectable sweater is acceptable, as long as it's not really cheesy or covered in diamonds or something 😉
love that dress!!!!!!!!!

kramie needs a sweater!!
xo the egg out west.
I think if you take him outside for walks in the cold, its necessary to give him a sweater. He could probably handle it with his normal fur, but if shaven, he will freeze! Just keep some extra blankets around the house for him to snuggle in when no one is home and put on a cute Kramer Cardi when outside 🙂
Ohmygosh, let's talk about the sweater in a minute. Your skirt is amazing. I mean, it makes me gasp because iloveitsomuch. Now, onto Kramer. Get the pup some threads!
You should totally get him one! I have a little white fluff ball and i got him a sweater a few weeks ago and let me tell you he loves it! he literally prances around like he is the coolest thing and (he is the dog who chews his leashes, collars and harnesses) just try a cute little one see how he does!
you're a babe! xoxo rach
You look great! Lovely!

I think you can find a non-ridiculous sweater for him to wear. OR- I used to know people who had a little dog and they would leave a heating pad on the couch for her in cold weather. She'd just snuggle up right on top of it. I don't know if it's safe to do all the time, but maybe put one somewhere at night and see if he likes it?

I use a sweater outside if it's cold. But I feel like it's sort of cruel to make a dog wear a sweater inside when they could get overheated, etc. I give Olive (my little rat terrier) a 'nesting area'. It's two pillows and a blanket to 'snuggle into' (she's not allowed in our bed). Then I put a little heating pad inside of the pillowcase on low for the night (like the kind you would use for cramps). She loves it! And I feel better knowing that she can go to one of her other beds if it's too warm for her comfort. Maybe that's too much. I just want her to be comfortable and when she wears a sweater she pretty much refuses to walk and just sits there. <3
