one new: soft boiled eggs. i love soft boiled eggs. breakfast, dinner, snack …. it doesn’t matter. i have fallen head over heals in love with soft boiled eggs. incase you are wondering (because i know you all are) i have come to find that the perfect soft boiled egg is boiled for six minutes then transferred quickly to ice water. perfecto. muah.

one old: my late great-grandmother’s typewriter. it’s not especially unique or beautiful, but i love it all the same. our birthday cards growing up were always typed by just this typewriter and i’m grateful to be lucky enough to now have in our home.
that typewrite is precious.
Lovely photos 🙂 its the little things that are the best!

I love boiled eggs too, my Dad used to make them for me on Sunday mornings and always cracked the top off them so I didn't burn my hands!
That type writer sounds very precious indeed. So pleased for you that it's under your roof.

After I discovered that was the perfect way to make soft boiled eggs they have quickly become a favourite in my life again. Don't forget you toast soldiers to go with them!

that's such a sweet thing to have your grandma's old typewriter around. and i've never made a soft boiled egg…will have to give it a try. ; )
Eggs are also a favorite of mine, currently going through a poached egg love affair.
Eggs are the best… I pretty much love them cooked any way!!

I read your post and had to make soft boiled egg – we Japanese call it half boiled egg. I tried exactly what you said or i thought.. but it was a bit too runny. Sooo, to clarify this, is it 6 min. from the point of water boil point? i just put eggs and heated them for 6 min.. haha. I will try again today. Thanks for reminding me that i like it so much.

Yes, sorry I totally should of mentioned that! It's 6 mins after the water comes to full boil, then drop it into ice water to stop it from cooking:)

Thank you Sara! I just ate three of these eggs and they were perfecto! One of those small things that make me happy.
I love that you have such a sentimental attachment to this typewriter, it's a very precious thing to have little reminders like this and I think typewriters are the kind of piece with a great history.Beautiful photos and I love the light by the way!
